FOREX QUESTION, How does the forex cost payment profit system work?

If i sign up with a forex company (let's say, Dukascopy) with $1500, and purchase 1 lot of the eur/usd for $143 or so, does that mean I have to make 143 pips just to cover the cost of the margin, before making any profit?
