My phone broke and a random guy at the verizon store said he'd give me his?

My phone broke and a customer at the Verizon store said he had a Juke that we could buy off of him for 25 dollars. He was somewhat creepy, but I'm not judging. I'm a very over paranoid person, but still, could he have put like a tracker in the phone? Or like bugged it? If so, can Verizon see if it's bugged?
